who
is Tom Richter?
Since 1998, Tom Richter has emerged as a nationally known speaker.
Senior pastor of New Hope Christian Church in Queens, NYC, Tom has
a love for people and for the Lord that translates into genuine,
fresh messages that both challenge and encourage.
What
Does He Do?
Tom is a sought after speaker who accepts a limited number of invitations
each year. Tom's goal in ministry is to lead people to a life-changing
encounter with Christ through thoughtful and relevant speaking.
Never boring, Tom's "listener-friendly" messages are Biblical,
applicable, and characterized by words such as passion, grace, warmth,
and humor. He approaches tough issues fearlessly and honestly, challenging
both youth and adult audiences to go beyond the veneer of this temporal
world and live for a deeper reality, found in a relationship with
Jesus Christ.
What is His Background?
After accepting Christ at age 9 in his hometown of Murray, KY, Tom
felt God's call to preach at 13. Since then, he has preached the
Good News of God's grace to anyone who would listen. He is not a
newcomer to Christian speaking-in just the Spring and Summer of
2001 alone, Tom spoke in over 25 cities spanning 12 states. He has
also served for three summers as Camp Pastor for Centrifuge,
a summer camp of Lifeway Christian Resources, a division of the
Southern Baptist Convention, where he has reached over 20,000 students.
Since then, he has scaled back his travel schedule upon becoming
the senior pastor of New Hope Christian Church (www.newhopeny.org),
a multi-ethnic church in Queens, NYC. Tom ('02) earned his M.Div.
at the Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, NJ, and a Bachelor's
degree in English Literature from Murray State University. Tom's
education is evident in messages that reflect a theological depth
and richness.
